The Sweet Story
Heirbloomerie is the combination of a few of my favorite things - fashion, florals and flavors (sweet bakery flavors, that is!) And you may be surprised to know that HB started, at first, by accident. As a fashion student, one afternoon I received a “just because” bouquet from my long-distance boyfriend. I had been working that day on a dress design for a final project, so I took a break from cutting fabric and sewing to arrange my newly delivered flowers. As I placed my bouquet down on the large table amongst the fabric cuttings, I took notice of how pretty the flowers and fabric looked together. Then it dawned on me: What if all flowers came wrapped up in a pretty piece of fabric instead of various plastics and paper? Thus, the idea for Heirbloomerie was planted.
I began to research and draft ideas together while simultaneously working my way up in the fashion industry as a designer. The more experience I gained and the more I was exposed to the inner workings of the textile and fashion industry, the more I realized just how wasteful & environmentally harmful clothing manufacturing is. This is where I saw an opportunity to repurpose fabrics into our bouquet wraps & make sustainability a core idea of the Heirbloomerie brand and mission. What first started off as our OG Bunting Bundles, soon morphed into our signature denim Bloombag.
All of our bouquets are inspired by classic heirloom bakery recipes from passed down my Nana who instilled my love of baking (and my sweet tooth.) Each “bakery inspired bouquet” comes with a coordinating recipe card and collectible iron-on patch. We like to think of our Bloombag as a classic denim jacket that you can customize and make your own.
If a wrapped bouquet is not your flavor, we offer arranged bouquets, too. Our curated vessels are carefully hand selected to blend perfectly with our arrangements. No mason jars or basic glass vases here! Sugar and flour holders, measuring cups, mixing bowls - we curate only the most charming containers to hold our sweet stems. When you select this option, you’re in for a surprise treat as every curated vessel is different from the next. This is just another way we honor our mission of sustainability and creating joy in surprising ways.
With every bouquet we bundle, and every curated vessel we collect and fill, we aim to promote sustainability & encourage a focus on repurposing. We strive to educate on the harmful practices of the fashion and floral industries in order to encourage safer purchasing practices. We look to partner with local and fair-trade farmers, artisans and manufacturers in order to create unique, locally made, locally sourced products & bouquets.
The goal is to have our bouquets be made of entirely local florals from a collective of farms, including our own Heirbloomerie-owned farm and creative community space. Spreading joy is what makes us happy. We think what we have to offer at HB is the sweetest floral experience out there, and we hope to make your celebrations extra sweet!
